Mick Jagger, 72, Expecting Baby Number 8 with American ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, 29!!!

Sir Mick Jagger is expecting his eighth child at the age of 72, his representatives have confirmed.

A spokesman for The Rolling Stones frontman confirmed the singer's 29-year-old girlfriend, American ballerina Melanie Hamrick, is pregnant.

Sir Mick, who is a great-grandfather, has seven children - Karis, Jade, Elizabeth, James, Georgia, Gabriel and Lucas - whose ages range from 45 to 17.

The news comes just two months after Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood became a father again at 68 after his wife Sally Humphreys gave birth to twin girls.

A source quoted by The Sun said: "This is great news. It will be Mick's eighth child and nothing fazes him. He's been incredibly supportive.

"She's very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life." 

"She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can't wait for him to be a dad again. They are taking the news in their stride."

Sir Mick and Miss Hamrick, who has reportedly performed with the American Ballet Theatre in New York, began dating after the suicide of L'Wren Scott in 2014, Sir Mick's partner of 13 years.

His latest child will be his eighth with five different women.

Sir Mick has a son, Karis Hunt Jagger, 45, from his relationship with Marsha Hunt and a daughter Jade Jagger, now 44, with his ex-wife Bianca.

The singer had four children with his ex-partner Jerry Hall - Elizabeth, 32, James, 30, Georgia, 24, and 19-year-old Gabriel.

He also had a son, Lucas, 17, following a brief relationship with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez. The liaison ended Sir Mick 's 22-year-relationship with Hall, who is now married to media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Sir Mick has five grandchildren and became a great-grandfather in May 2014 when Jade's daughter Assisi gave birth to a baby girl.

In May, Wood revealed that Sir Mick, who turns 73 on July 26, was one of the first people to visit his newborns and said: "Mick popped in on the third day. He couldn't wait to see them."

After Sir Mick and Miss Hamrick met in 2014, they were photographed on a hotel balcony in Zurich, where the Rolling Stones were performing.
